Outrigger for Frame Scaffolding
OSHA requires a 4:1 height to frame width ratio for freestanding scaffolding. Anything taller requires your scaffolding to be tied to the structure you are working on. These outriggers widen your base and allow you to go taller with your scaffolding platform before you are required to tie off.
Using 4 outriggers will widen your base up to 60 inches. If used with 5 foot wide frames, your base will be 120 inches (10 feet) and will allow you to go up to 40 feet high without tying off.
